I used to have several thousand books, but a couple of years ago there was a serious bushfire in our area. After being pretty comprehensively ripped off during the chaos after this I still have a few hundred books left, but many well loved books and technical works from two or three generations of my family are sadly no longer with me.

Having no desire to retrace the past beyond that - I have recently started to buy some more books. I have chosen one by Don Casey, Complete Illustrated Sailboat Maintenance Manual. And I am expecting a copy of Linda Greenlaw's Lobster Chronicles next week via Ebay.

So I put it out there, what should I put on my list? :bowdown:

Here's a few Ric;

When Wool was King - Alec Morrison - RM Williams Publishing.
The Unlikely Voyage of Jack de Crow - AJ Mackinnon - Black Inc. I believe he has a new book out, don't know what its called but if its anything like this one it should be good.
Hops and Glory - Pete Brown -Macmillan
Microbrewed Adventures - Charlie Papazian - Harper Collins
Don't Die With the Music in You - Wayne Bennett - ABC Books
Sorry to hear about losing your books, that would have been devastating. Good luck with your quest.

Cheers
Dan

Love those "armchair books" on voyages others had made.
I've been collecting older square rigger books:
Brassbounder
Around The Horn before the Mast
Wind Aloft, Wind Alow by Marin-Marie
and of course Villiers books on Square Riggers.

The Unlikely Voyage of Jack de Crow is a really good fun book. That guy MacKinnon rowed and sailed an old, very old, Mirror dinghy from the west of the UK all the way to Turkey. Brilliant effort and an excellent read. It stalls in a couple of places but soon gets going again.

If he's released another, I will be interested in taking a look.
